Hey everyone... dump here reporting from snowshoe... i don't have a lot of time as the media center's closing down in ten minutes, but i just wanted to share a few images & words with you.

the mtx today was lots of fun. the course finally dried out from last night & made for a good time, lots of speed & a number of crashes (namely one that took out bootes)

the dh course is soupy wet and dried out a little to the consistency of tacky mud. the pros are ripping the course but it's giving the experts significantly more trouble as there were actually 20+ person lines before particular sections this afternoon.

i'll try to hop online tonight to post some more, but this is all i can share for now.

check out http://www.transcendmagazine.com for updates & lots of pictures and more race coverage tomorrow and next week.

enjoy - all for now.
btw - i didn't have time to upload the pics here, so check them out on money Sad

Henry O'Donnell won with a 5:07, with Kyle Strait in second with a 5:43. Henry was absolutely flying. The course was super slick because of the downpour of rain, and then the sun came out about an hour before the race, so everything was a peanut butter mud that made it near impossible to ride (at least for me) some of the sections of the course, especially the new off-camber section.

I had a good time despite the rain and mud. Unfortunately my race run didn't go so well as my chain jambed up before the first woods section. Sad Kinda depressing as although I hate riding in mud, I'm pretty good at it and had a chance to finish well, but that's racing... I feel as though I had an advantage on the course having ridden it the two previous years. So although the course was physically demanding, I didn't feel as mentally fatigued since most of the course had been memorized.

The course was brutal. The new sections would have been fun without the mud, though.. granted, Snowshoe gets damn near rainforest quantities of rain in June, so the mud was not surprising.

It was fun hanging with Hcor for a few days.

Kovarick getting a 4:32 in that shit... fuckin' sick! Shocked

ya - i agree... sick timing there...

fortunately all the times i've ever ridden the course, it's been bone dry... so unfortunately i have no first-hand experience w/ what everyone was dealing with today, but from the looks of it, i could surely imagine.

i had a fun time too... & where the hell was everyone? people weren't out & about... almost seemed as if most people stayed in their rooms. there was no festival vibe going on there @ all... we mad the best of it for sure though.

ya that was al3x bagging on kyle a few weeks ago... talking about he rides like a regular-fast junior expert.

he was riding very well - over a minute faster than the fastest 19-24 experts... hardly a regular/fast junior expert... his times would have placed him nicely in pro.

We were around. Hcor didn't spend too much time in the condo as he was out and about getting his bike fixed a couple of times. Unfortunately, an inordinate amount of time was spent washing our bikes and gear... Rolling Eyes We ate out all the time. Ran into dw and Fraser in the bar Sat night. I was running into John P all over the place.
