SGS Pro Sizing, and Shock question

Getting ready to order the SGS pro, and have a few questions...
I am 6' and weigh 225 lbs, am going to using this bike to race dh, ride n/s style stunts, some urban, and some hucking.
1. I want to know if I can upgrade the spring from the factory...
2. I prefer the feel of a smaller bike, currently ride a Trek Bruiser 2, and the geometry is perfect for me. What size would fit me best.

1. no but you can do this through your local dealer or Progressive pretty easily.
2. a medium/19". at 6' the small/17" will prolly be too small, espeically for racing.

Would the SGS Pro stand up to Freeride abuse We're not talking huge drops maybe 10-15ft (working up to it) max to tranny & 2-6ft flat, but that's it. I'm a big dude @ 6'4" tall weigh 225 and have been looking at the SGS Pro or the BH Expert. I like the spec of the SGS better and would also prefer to support a company from my home turf of New England , even though I now reside in So.Cal . Any problems you forsee Also, I was planning ont the Med frame, sound OK Riding style is 60% FR/40% DH. Thanks.

The boxxer is a little more of a race fork.. But if you look at it most DH Pro racers they do 10 foot drops in there race run... so the boxxer can handle a little free ride if you want

I just bought the frame used, with the fifth element, I weigh 160 with pads and such. What would be the best weight spring for it?
finally 2004 has rolled around and the new pros have come out you cant get much better than these things. you have the invencible sherman breakout mounted on a 1.5 headset. wow thats not goin anywhere but down. then for you stopping power you have the hayes hfx9 hd 8" rotors and calipers. wow those will stop you. then you have one of the plushest rear suspensions on the back to cushion that sensitive area in the rear of you. for the front drive train you have and e 13 chainguid mounted to a houlzfeller crank. thats going to take some abuse. from the looks of it i think that this bike was built to be dropped, jumped, thrown, beat, smashed, fall of of cliffs, and ramed into trees (just for singletrack guys like me). yeh this is a solid freeride bike alright and is definatly worth the money. it is also a big improvement from last years model. especally in the fork department. hope you guys get a chance to ride one and keep on ridin.

maybe a 450 or 400. I'm 164 w/o pads and about 175 with gear and ride a 500 lb spring (the stock spring)

Just got my new IH SGS DH Pro, and it's sitting in my living room, kicking ass. The frame is so sweet, as well the new linkage and chain guide. I'm going to build it up tommorow, and maybe post a few pics. It's sexy.
