Need some advice about going tubeless.
Just got back from my LBS with a Michelin 24 UST 2.5 Rear tire and a Maxxis Minion 2.5 super tacky Non-UST tire for the front. I meant to order both UST.

My bike set up is a Titus SuperMoto with Bontrager Rhythm UST rims and I ride lift served rocky areas in the east coast (Diablo, Killington etc)

I never ran Stan's before. Now I hear about all these problems with Stan's eating tires and burping. What do I do?
Return the non UST tire? Just run it with a tube? return both and just run tubes? Before I bought UST I heard great things about it, now I hear I am going to have problems?

Thanks in advance for advice.

Just run the tires with tubes. Doesn't matter if they are UST or not.

Tubeless is great if you don't plan on changing tires much. I have run and continue to run tubeless on my XC bike for about 6 years now and never want tubes again for it. DH I ran tubeless for about 2 years and quit, it's too much of a pain in the ass to change tires when you are using latex.

Hey Taz,

Thanks for your reply, I picked up your message a little late.
I went with tubeless partly because of curiosity and I have heard some good things (and bad)

My strategy, and I might be misguided, is to run UST with NO tubes and NO Stans. I will pack a spare tube and install in event of a flat. I can fix the flat at home. I haven't had a flat in 4 years! I am betting (hoping) flats will be infrequent. Wink

OK, so am I nutz?

It can also depend on the rims you are using. Are you using the Mavic EX823's?
