My wife and i are setting up a vacation package @ Snowshoe Mountain for the first weekend in July from the 5th to the 8th...

Can someone tell me anything about the mountain/bike park?

any info about lodging bike storage, trails etc? Before we set up a Reservation we need this info first, anything that would help would be great!

How many trails, how difficult, what should i expect etc? i saw some video on youtube, the bike park doesn't seem that big...

We still wanna head out and enjoy the weekend with the family, and i can ride 2 days.. Smile

thanks!

I've been when it is both wet and dry.

I hope you are going on a weekend that the western territory is open, if not all you will have lift access to is the basin side the "freeride" side. Althought a shuttle is available for the western territory. Western territory is where all the race courses and the DH trails are. I honestly don't ever ride the basin side, just not that fun for me. I am not into skinnies and all the wooden stuff.

western territory = 1200' of trails
basin side (freeride side) = 700' of trails

There are lot of places to stay, take your pick. I camp more often than I stay at the lodging as it isn't cheap. Snowshoe in general is so much fun, the village is nice on top of the mountain.

The western territory is pure DH trails, most of them are fast and not too tech. One trail is very rocky and tech, I think it's called Jack Rabbit? There is a jump trail called powerline, it's pretty ho-hum if you ask me. Some courses will give you permanent teeth chatter like "ball and jack".

It's a very fun place to ride. I will be there in less than two weeks for the first race!
