What brand of hubs? You can do it but there are some really cheap 20mm hubs on the market now. Probably cheaper than you could buy replacement bearings.

trying to avoid unlacing and relacing wheel. bearings are cheap. trying to salvage an old wheel thats good besides bearings.

oh yeah and its a specialized stout 20mm. same as any other generic.
