Why don't they just make them like the Monster T and come standard for a 51mm spaced caliper, set for 200-203mm rotors? Don't give me some shit about "what if I want to run 6-7" brakes" cause everyone here and in the DH scene is always looking for the strongest set of stoppers available. If the Gustavs/Codes/... are too much for you then go to a weaker brake or don't apply so much force to the lever Idea . I think that this whole "I need an adapter specific to this fork and these calipers" is more of a pain in the ass than "I have too much braking power". I've heard people buying $150 mounts. I'm talking all DH specific forks should be set up for 8", just like XC is for 6". Manitou has the 51mm drilling on their XC forks as standard. No adapter needed for Hayes or Avid's. The middle of the road forks where some people might want to run different size discs, i.e. a Fox 36. Let them keep the adapter concept.

Just to put it into perspective for those who might argue. Is anybody out there, in the DH scene, using 6" discs? Specifically on the fork?

Any thoughts???

I don't see anything wrong with the current set-up. I do however like the new Totem posts that you just mount the caliper directly to. Of course I am limited to only using an 8" rotor..

give it some time and a company like problem solvers, or danger boy will make a mount letting you run a 6 inch rotor

You like it till you cross thread and/or strip the threads in the fork! Wink
