Wilmington, N.Y. is approximately 10 Miles From Lake Placid, N.Y. This region has hosted the 1932 and the 1980 winter olympics. Wilmington is a real, nice quaint town with some great casual lodging and dining choices. All campgrounds are within 2 miles of Whiteface Mountain. Lake placid is a little more upscale with a very nice main street and many choices on nightlife, lodging and camping. Wilmington campgrounds: Lake Placid/Whiteface mountain K.O.A. 77 Fox Farm rd. We will have a free bus this year going to there at the end of the day (5:00pm or so?) to bring you back to Whiteface and your vehicle. This is also very close to the "Flume" cliff diving spot!
