Why would you? Unless you're doing it because you completely messed up the Jr. T and dont have cash to spend on something new. The Kumicho is an 8" DH bike, not a freeride 4-6" bike that a DJ-1 would work well on. You're going from a 7" downhill fork, to a 5" SC DJ/FR fork. Your BB will probably end up under 12" and your head angle is going to be real steep. If I were you, either look for a used Jr. T if you just need something to carry you over. And if you got the cash, step it up to at least a 888R or a Sherman or something. Personally I haven't felt a Jr. T in a while that I liked. The valving recently has been falling off in quality, probably because Marz is really marketing it as a budget DH fork. If you really want to stick with SC, you got a lot of options, because the Kumicho is a 1.5 headset and comes stock with a 1-1/8" reducer headset. Go for a long travel 6-7" SC in that case. You'll be much happier. Save some money and get a nice hardtail to throw the DJ1 on, it's a sweet fork, but needs a properly matched bike for it to really give you what it's worth.

Alright i agree with stef , and dont take this as us ganging up, but putting the 5'' dj1 on the kumicho would be a horrible idea, and i can say that with confidence cuz i race one. A 7'' fork is the smallest fork you would want to put on that bike becuase its entire geometric style was based around a 7 in fork. Id recommend a manitou 1.5 in steerer single crown 7'' fork if a single crown is the route u wanna take if not the sherman is a damn good 7'' fork.

Just a useless tidbit but i figured id throw it out there, the kumicho has a 8.75 eye to eye shock on it , and if you drop to an 8.5 in eye to eye shock with the same stroke the bike will then have the exact same geometry as an Iron Horse Sunday.
