Do you use it shooting bike-sports, or do you prefer to have the scene composed and shoot just once?

How usefull the 5 Fps capability of the 20d really is for this kind of photography?

I use it fairly often but not really for sequence shots. I use it just in case one photo turns out no so good as the other.

I wish I had 5fps. My D70 just does 3 fps.

it depends on your shooting style and what type of shots you're after. Personally I prefer to fire off one shot at the peak moment of action rather than rely on the motor drive to maybe get it. there are times when I'll fire off a short burst at 5fps but not more than a few frames. On the other hand if you want to do sequence shots, which are falling out of favor these days, then a motor drive is essential (as is a deep buffer). this shot was done at 3fps on my old body, I think 5 is the sweetspot and don't think I'll be using the 8fps mode very often.
