I'm trying to figure out my plans for Mount Snow, whether to camp or get a hotel. I read somewhere that they open a parking lot up for camping during races but I figure it should be packed. Any suggestions from people who have been there before?

i think i'm going ot camp..
they open up all of haystack as a camp area, it's like $5 a night, it does get a little corwded, but there is no problem finding a spot.. don't plan to sleep too much though if you go near the lodge... lots of beer drinking and crazy fire jumps all night long Smile

im not sure, but it may be too late to find lodging, it may all be booked already, as for camping its awesome, i camped out at haystack last year(we had the tits spot, the balcony of the lodge) and it was so much fun, id love to do it again this year, unfortunatly i will not be around...haystack opens up the bathrooms and showers for you to use also, pretty chill.

I wish my friends and I knew that Haystack allows camping. We stay @ Jamaica State Park, about 15 minutes away. We'er definitly going to be there at least one night to hang, drink, jump and all that good shit. Only 2 1/2 weeks left. Let's just hope the weather is kick ass...

Yeah last year was my first @ Mt. Snow and i camped out for the 4 days i was there. there are many pros and cons to camping at Haystack
Pros:
camping is the shit, grilling, drinking, hanging out with random people
Fire jumping
Beer and music every night
Foot Down till one in the morning...if you dont know what it is, you'll find out
BIG "party" that one night

Cons:
Beer drinkers, music, rocky ground results in not much sleep
Fire Jumpers in front of your tent keeping you up till 2am
Showers....they have them, but they aint pretty
no electricity.....
We came back twice to our tent blown over in a ditch and full of water
$$ they charge you every night to park
$$ they charge you for firewood

but i will still show up one night for some fire jumping and Foot Down....

good luck finding a condo that is even reasonable for someone with a lot of bling. i reserved one for our team over a month and a half ago.

i was there that last 2 years and i don't remember any footdown/pit.... where did this take place? last year there was plenty of firejumping, and the year before dropping off all those stacked picnic tables......maybe i'll have to build up a pit bike to bring along Twisted Evil

foot down took place near where the fire jumping was
....as for pit bikes, our team will have two there hopefully. might need to bust em out on the 4x course after it is done
i think we need a pit bike thread Twisted Evil

Hey you cant forget shooting wet bagels with the huge slingshot (all fun and games till some jackass trys to set them on fire and shoot em the length of the haystack parking lot), or your neighbors throwing quarter sticks of dynamite every ten minutes in the direction of your tent, or how about your other neighbor blasting Sweet Home Alabama at 3am. Oh yeah and how about waking up in some random girl's tent in the morning Wink
Good times...

who the hell did that?? Wink

actually the "Dumbass Award" goes to the dude that threw his little propane tank into his fire which prompted a "jet engine" type flame to shoot out the end of it. i seriously thought the thing was gonna take off at warp speed and torpedo someones car......

never again will so much craziness be packed into 4 days

2 years ago wa even better than last year...stacked a bunch of picnic tables and were dropping them to that small hill to ethe left of the lodge (by the stairs) 1/2 the people hitting it were drunk as hell... some were even taking shots between drops, i really thought someone was going ot get hurt, but no one did... and the guys from haystack were cool with it.. they sat in the truck for a while and watched, tehn came back later to see if we made it any bigger or not....
