Well today isn't going to happen it seems. In our never ending battle to get everything straight we have faced another issue with points and something that was "promised" at the beginning of the season. Which we are trying to figure out how to handle. Deals with people racing pro class for the money when they are actually in some other amateur class. Working to resolve this as fast as I can so I can get all the points calculated.

Nope same course. Apparently Todd said at the beginning of the year that you could race pro class to go for the money but get your points in your normal class. What a major headache that is when trying to keep up with points.

I don't think that's exactly what Todd said. As a matter of fact, I can't recall Todd ever saying anything about individual racers and promoters.
As Todd originally stated, the promoters were free to run their races any way they saw fit, with GES standings being an overlay. The races that were were run with pro/open classes created the problem by letting anyone with a USAC license race as a pro. Duryea went so far as to encourage racers to "step up" and go for the money. By trying to use a NORBA-like point structure and classes, more problems are created than solved.
The only way to solve the problem is to have a top to bottom standing, regardless of classes, based on overall times. I have suggested this before, did the calculations and have, obviously, been ignored.

cashguru, but the reality is everything is being done via age brackets. So we need to do the points that way. Yes there will be ties, but that will be settled on race day of the finals. Trying to scrape up and put this series back together we have to make some sacrifices along the way. So far everyone is happy with how it stands. At least the series is moving forward and not completely dead. I am trying my best to make sure the points are accurate and fair. Dieter and I have been slaving away digging through the results from each race to make sure we don't miss anything. So far between the both of us we have hours invested in researching all the results from the different venues.
All why I am trying to develop an online points system to get away from this method of using excel, which in itself causes problems with multiple revisions and copies of the files.

Taz, Most everyone I've talked to in the pits is extremely thankful for Your efforts. What Deiter has done for the series and Platty this year is incredible.
Thanks Guys !!!!

Awesome! As George said, thanks for all your work on this! - Jim
At the end of the day I think 99% of the people are happy with what we are doing as far as pulling this back together and using NORBA point structure and classes to determine champions. Will 100% of the people be happy - no, and will there be some mistakes - yes, but we will do our best to be fair to everyone. There is a lot of "well, it was supposed to be this way" or "so and so promised this" but the ball was dropped by these same people, for whatever reason and it doesn't matter at this point, and we are just doing our best to put it back together for the riders and the venues. Many of the issues stem from the structure of the series not being defined clearly, such as amateurs racing in Pro class, and promoters of different venues doing different things.Needless to say, there will be $$$ and prizes and riders have gone to new venues and the finale at Platty will be a blast - which is what it is all about!
