Mount Snow is probobally my favorite hill to ride period. I just love the place and I always have...My uncle owns a condo at the seasons right on the mountain so I have been going there since i was just a little kid. Mount snow has sooo much potential and sooo much land to work with.

You guys have some of the gnarest and most fun dh I have ridden. your hill just lacks the stunts...for the weekend trips mount snow isnt as exciting as it is at races. If you guys created some large drops fun skinnies and smooth tables you would attract a much larger crowd. much of this could be mad on open ski slope and you could add in some fun singletrack on the open slope leading into stunts.

There are just soo many different possible areas for stunts to be built. obviously the woods would be the best spot so you wouldnt have to dissasemble them in the winter. If you added drops ranging from 4-10 feet or even larger, some flowy bridges maybe including teetor totters banked turns and rollers and maybe even som large jumps you guys would attract a huge crowd.

Look at diablo it is such a small hill compared to yours and look at the amount of people that flock there for the freeride stunts...mt snow has a ton of potential, it just needs to become up to date on the dh/fr scene.

Hopefully everyhting will pass with the environmental comitte and this will all be possible....keep us updated.....

Check out Cypress Bike park: they just opened their bike operation summer 2005, and it is a great example of both how to get started and what to build. Fast, flowy lines with berms that support and encourage speed, man-made and terrain-based stunts, drops and airs, and table-tops in strategic places.

why again is the forrest service so strict etc on making DH trails there (besides the upper part where that animal is mating)

Beauracracy

wow. Just incase you guys haven't realized this yet the entire yardsale section of the nationals pro course has NOTICABLY shifted and eroded downwards from all the riding and weathering on it (Since 1998) Considering it is a national forest that might have something to do with it also. Of course I love racing on great trails but knowing they'll be around 10 years from now makes the experience that much greater. It would be nice to take my son to mount snow or another venue some day and take him down a trail and at the end say to him "I used to ride this when I was your age too". And why don't we all stop being such assholes to mount snow, eh? Listen: they're asking our help so they can make our experiences better. If you guys have a problem with a specific person there take it up with them. It doesn't make us look too professional or serious if every other post is "you suck" or "f**k you!". Paying for parking is a real insult, i'll admit but why not take that up with whoever is in charge of it? Better trail marking would be GREAT! I've only ridden on non race weekends at mount snow twice since 1998 and it wasn't the terrain that I disliked. It would be nice to be able to know where I am when I'm out there. Back to the nationals, having MORE course marshalls that are BETTER! Alot of the marshalls on last years pro/expert course were just not with it. they were standing around, sitting down and just watching. It would be great if they could do a better job of enforcing hikers/watchers and keep them off the trails or even just making sure nobody was coming when people crossed the courses. I'll honestly say that my biggest fear at last years national was not getting hurt but it was hitting pedestrians in the middle of the trail.

Mount Snow a dream mountain! Yeah right. Mount Snow used to be at the top of my list for DH. Not anymore. I wouldn't spend another dollar at your mountain nor would most of the riders I ride with. Why you ask, well for starters
1)Trail system has a serious lack of flow--when I ride DH thats what I want to do, not climb some god foresaken hill on my 40+lb DH bike
2) Trail closures---why the f**ck would you close some of your better and most challenging terrain, Sap Tapper for instance.
3) Lack of challenging terrain---We can all see that its there USE IT
4)Terrain features----Oh yeah theres some at bottom near the bike shop--Are you F'n kidding me
5)Every other mountain around the Northeast has already stepped it up, with trails built for riders by riders. Plattekill, Diablo, Jiminy Peak, Highland, Attitash And all these mountains are smaller than Mount SLOW
