In recent years Mongoose has made comeback... Featuring a well thought out design and quality parts the bikes are hard to beat, but damn do they look hideous. For 2009 they kept the same proven design but used a more traditional look to create a very appealing line.

With the price of bikes, frames, forks, shocks going through the roof Mongoose's offerings should get some attention this year. Check out the Mongoose Boot'r DH race bike with an MSRP of $3999 complete. Also the Nugget looks like a fun little ride but I haven't found a price on it yet.

So what do you think of the new 2009 Mongeese?

In my book, there's just way too much going on in there. Do squeeks and creeks drive you nuts? Try finding that one. IDK, I don't really like them. Aceman

I have heard that they ride really well but it is still a mongoose.

They are just like Manipoo in my book, they might have some good shit out right now but it is going to take a lot to get people back on board after all the bad news in the past.

Yup. I reviewed one:
http://www.derailedonline.com/archives/000280.html

The parts you get for the price you pay is unbeatable.

I didn't have a single "squeek problem with mine" Just one link that tend to loosen - blue loctite fixed that. And they chunked the design of that link and made a better one for 2009.

The names of the 2009 bikes are a little cooky if you ask me. Boot'r, Pinn'r, and Nugget.

Look a little cleaner than previously. Anyone who has ridden one says they like it.

Ya agree 100%. Much cleaner than before.

Interbike 2006, the Mongoose was the bike that surprised me more than anything at the dirt demo. I rode one cause no other bike was available and I was just wanting to ride instead of walk around in the dirt. Wasn't expecting much when I got to the top of bootleg canyon, but my opinion changed when I got to the bottom.
