So I was sitting here drinking my white communist and thinking that I might become addicted to racing. I entered my first one at mt. Snow last weekend and although it got rained out I can't stop thinking about going fast. Usually I am thinking about a million thing but this time I can't stop thinking about blowing through rock gardens. I haven't even gotten a race run in and I am already hooked. I have been freeriding for about 8 years but I have never cared about the fastest way to get from top to bottom. This is like a whole new aspect of mountaint biking. Discuss it amongst yourselves.

I am starting to not care about racing anymore. This is my 8th year doing DH and racing DH and I am just getting sick of racing. I hate waiting at the top for my start time.

I go through cycles. I break it up - the racing - so that I don't get tired of it.

banshee, where abouts in upstate NY do you live? I am in Glens Falls. As for racing, I had to stop for a bit due to funds being too low. I am having a lot of fun tooling around and going free-riding in the meantime. Racing was fun though! The most focused I will EVER be is during a race run, nothing compares. Eat it up!!

I am in Saratoga Springs and try to hit up the SMBA trails as much as possible. As far as expensive goes, go into debt, it's the american way! Hey George, does Laz let you register for the race oin sunday. I might not be able to make it on Saturday?

race long time ago, still lurk today....
I used to love it, I go through phases. I have no interest in racing at this point and have a difficult time even getting any desire to ride my DH bike.
I do remember my first race, I loved the feel of one run to get it right and hit everything the way you wanted to. We will see how things go.
