So i was doing the truck pull at the local fair about a month ago...my pull was going really good..i think i was going to get a full pull...then snap...my rear wheels locked up then sniping my driveshaft.. so i tried pulling myself home seeing as i live right down the road i took a corner onto my street and mike (dhjunkie) yelled for me to stop i hit my brakes and there was noting i drive onto the curb to stop i look back and my wheel is hanging out....so it got towed...took it apart and it was destroyed...got a rebuild on it now and its all better although i should have regeared and got a 14 bolt.... heres the pics
Wheel
Driveshaft
Yoke
Housing
Housing Crack
Gears
more gears
Everything had to be replace accept the axle housing itself...
But hey shit happens...

You did some good damage on that rear end. Good job!
You need you a DANA 77 or something like that to be doing that shit. If you snap the axle it doesn't matter you can still go home since the hubs float. I have DANA 77 on the back of my diesel truck.

Amen. I have a full floater for the back of the play truck. I can't say as I've ever needed it, but knowing it's there is always nice.

yah...i would love to upgrade but its just too expensive...im thinking of buying a military pick up though and then droping a 427 i have laying around and lock the rear end lsd in the front with 8" lift and 40 boggers and have a trail truck... bikes and trucks and trying to get into photography and all sorts of other stuff is really holding me back
