can't say i have...but bb7 is a single pivot design is it not? thats why it came out with a floating disk brake for 03 to compensate brake jack.
i like the efficiency of the 4-bar horst linkage M1...no brake jack. mated with the 5th element...its a hard platform to beat!
there are equals to the m1 i'm sure...but none better IMHO...

The BB7 really doesn't suffer from from brake jack that much at all. They added the floating brake just to eliminate what little was there to make it very independant rear suspension, already had no chain interaction
I've rode a couple FSR DH bikes through rock gardens, don't hold you breath... but I think the BB7 feels much better

Sun Ringle Octanes. I'm assuming these aren't the magnesium ones. If you've still got em when we ride together next, bring em and I'll give you $27 for em.

Did the FSR DH bikes you rode have 24" or 26" rear wheels? Rock garden performance isn't the only important thing either...

the M1 is not super plush like a RM9...it has a very controlled feeling in the rock gardens. besides, i try to come into rock gardens as hot as i can to stay on top of all that crap...just kinda skip/float thru...
i'm not trying to put down the bb7...its known to be super strong and a good hucker. i think with the 5th element and floating disc...it'll be a great setup
syndasti....that is one disturbing avatar...
spincrazy...word, next time i see you (which i hope will be soon), i'll bring the pedals...
