ANyone know of any good camping spots for the weekend? I called some places but they want a 3 night stay and I am coming up on Saturday morning. Anyplace else that isnt too far from the mountain?

Talk to Downhill Mike, a couple of my friends Erik and Kevin stayed at a spot two weeks ago,
the campsite its a 'KOA' campground. It's a family type. Has a pool nice showers and bathrooms, a store thats open till like 10pm. Here is the link http://www.koa.com/where/ny/32131/index.htm
If that does not get you there just look up KOA campsites.

Mike let us camp at his place. pm him or look on WF web page and get the ph# to the shop/ticket sales and ask for Mike.
FYI- I'm not speaking for Mike or saying he'll just invite everybody. I'm sure he has a limit too. Aceman

Here's the # to High peaks cyclery (518) 523-3764 Ask them for the # to WF or if Downhill Mike's available. You're gonna have a blast up there!

dude,
camp here. it's free and i already have like 7 people camping herethis weekend. very park like and wooded. ther eis a picture of the cabin on www.asilvertouch.com
between the party at the lake placid pub and brewery and the party here, the more peolpe the better.
the trails were awesome today. hurricane katrina caused some new blowdown that we cleared and some may be left on trail number 24 for a killer 30' log ride. i wanna see if we can just flatten out the top since it's perfectly placed already.
ride, camp and party.
