So anybody who is going that weekend? Is there anything for the wife to do at Whiteface? She has a HT with short travel but I don't know if there is anything for her to ride? If there is nothing to ride is there a lake to hang out for he or anything else? _________________ Thank you spring. The only thing is, it's about 15 minutes away from WF. The XC and DH is sweet up there. We're about 95% there. We just need to straighten out some wrinkles this week. Posted: Thu Aug 25, 2005 6:59 am downhillmike All-City   Joined: Mar 23, 2005 Posts: 689 Location: Lake PLacid, N.Y the shuttle bus at whiteface goes approx. 1/3 of the way up the mountain. those trails are great. beginner to intermediate downhill/cross country. there is even a killer waterfalls that you guys can both meet at during your ride down and your wife's ride up. the lake placid area also has tons of other fun stuff to do. _________________ Whiteface Mountain Bike Park www.downhillmike.com Size does matter! Ill be bringing my new rig with me. I got a custom Yeti ASX built up and will be here next this monday. Cant wait to ride, I hear alot more people are comming up for the weekend, which is great. See you then. By the way, the last time I was up there was about three weeks ago, and I was wondering if you have done any new trail features since last time(jumps,berms or whatever ). THere are even lots of awesome xc trails in the area you don't have to pay for if you know where to look. I even think dhmike has some of them in his backyard. plenty of stuff. one thing we used to do is start over at the flume and ride up to the bunny hutch at whiteface and then cruise back down xc style. send your wife to main street shopping man. she'll have fun! as to riding, i'm hoping to gather a group to get up there that weekend. we'll see though. I'm totaly down for the after hill activites at pj's... bring on the foos!

downhillmike All-City   Joined: Mar 23, 2005 Posts: 689 Location: Lake PLacid, N.Y if anyone wants to check out the x-c trails i can do a tour de placid starting from my house. some killer hard to find x-c trails. it wouldn't start until after i get back from the mountain though, probably around 6:30 or so. we'd go for like 1 to 2 hours. i wouldn't mind having a group ride from here, followed by an after riding bonfire and party. maybe on sunday since the party at the l.p. pub and brewery is on saturday the 3rd. _________________ Whiteface Mountain Bike Park www.downhillmike.com Size does matter!
