I'm from south Jersey near Philly. I'm a little over 2 hours from Diablo. I'd like to find somewhere closer to ride sometimes, how far is Spring Mountain from the Philly area? and where is Spring Mountain I never saw any info on it before. Thanks.

its about 45 minutes north west of philly if you were to take the jersey turnpike to the pa turn pike then get on 422 at king of prussia then go out to collegeville then take 29 north out and you will see signs you will turn right at a place called crazy carls. PM me if you ever wanna ride there

Just remember, Spring doesn't run the lifts anymore, so you're hiking/riding up every time. Good thing is that it's a small hill.
God I miss those lifts and other downhillers. I think that place would really have taken off. The runs aren't super long, but the granit rocks, down'd trees, jumps(now bulldozed) and stunts were just pure fun!!

ohh no lifts that sucks. I ride on flat land here in South Jeresey and Wissahickon in Philly enough I want a lift so I can just go down when I go somewhere lol. I'll still have to check it out though. Sounds like a good alternative for when I can't make it all the way up to Diablo.
I guess its free then you don't need to buy a lift ticket?

There are some dirt jumps up rt 29 in Pennsburg, Redhill actually, behind Perkiomen Tours bus company.
Pottstown has a BMX track now, http://www.trilogypark.org, and they talked about building a practice jump section. The track is huge and it's the best thing to happen in my hometown for years. It's 20 years too late for me, but I might race cruiser next year- just tough for me to give up prime road bike time (Tuesday, Thursday nights and Sat, Sunday).
There is a guy named Josh who has a couple acres, extra time, and excavating equipment that has the best trails around. He's somewhere around Boyertown and it's invite only. My main shop guy and some customers ride there a lot. If you want me to introduce you to him, shoot me a PM with your name and phone number and I'll call you Saturday from the shop. I've never ridden there, so be disappointed if they don't welcome you into their little click.

It's free, but there is no way to shuttle. Pushing up really doesn't take that long and when you find a section you like, you just keep doin' it a couple times instead of going all the way down.

ok cool. I just checked out your site the Duryea video got me a little depressed as I sit here with my broken wrist. I wanted to enter that this year, but I think its a couple weeks sooner than my wrist would like. Oh well whatever, there's always next year. It was a good video by the way.

He did most of the building in Lansdowne.
