The back of my 03 sgs pro is moving around a lot. There's all new bearings where they can be replaced. What do I need to replace to get rid of the sloppyness? Also, The bolt that holds the shock in place on the rocker link is a piece of shit. Instead of being a bolt with a nut on one end, it's a bolt that has a nut on both sides and the bolt is like a 1/4" short. We don't have an Iron Horse dealer around here. Who can I talk to about getting this thing back into running shape?

Usually when you have a lot of play in the rearend it is because of the bushings being shot. I have had the problem with my bike before and I have just changed the shock bushings and everything has been cool after that.

Which direction do you feel play? Up and down or side to side? If you replaced all the bearings and you still have a little play then its probably the shock bushings. Usually you can feel the bushing play when you lift on the back of your seat. If you still have play after bushings and bearings then something isn’t right. You might want to see if you can use the 04 e-13 shock mount hardware. There are a few extra bolts that help add stiffness to the rear end.

Hey Aceman,
Get in touch with either us, support@e13components.com, or get in touch with Iron Horse. Both of us carry a 2004 rear end upgrade for the 03 bikes. It has new chainstays and rocker link for the shock. It's re-designed and is much stiffer than the old version. Check it out here:

Does this Apply to the 03 SGS Team. It has a E13 rocker link on the rear already. Haven't noticed any play.

The '04 DH model comes stock with the kit. The upgrade includes a cross brace on the upper rocker link (and straight chainstays). If that exists then you've got it already.
