ISO settings

So what ISO settings do you usually use for action shots? I have been going with 200 for the most part, but it is a bit dark in the woods, so I need to bump it to 800....is that about right?

ISO is the sensitivity of the camera to light.

Higher ISO helps in lower light conditions but at the sacrifice of image quality. A photo will have more noise in it with higher ISO settings. I adjust my ISO setting to light conditions not to what the subject is. I shoot in the lowest ISO I can.

bump it up only as much as you need to to maintain a decent shutter speed at the aperture you want

I am using a Fuji S7000- I think the Polarizing filter is really dimming the images in everything except full daylight so I need to experiment a bit
