the dodge rod is so large because its a 5.9 litre straight six. the other two are v8s and this picture really shows little as to the strength. By the way my preferance is dodge, im just say...

And what does that have anything to do with it? Fewer cylinders does not necessarily mean you need larger components. Especially when the bore sizes are not very much different from each other.
Ford Bore: 3.74"
Cummins: 4.02"
You should see some of the other components of a Cummins...

Ah..... Sure. A rode 2x the size shows little to the strength
Go to your local truck store, not pickup truck store. and look at the classifications on engines. The Powerstroke and Duramax are classified as light to medium duty engines (same engine that comes in the pickup truck). The cummins is classified as a medium to heavy duty engine. If you open the hoods you can tell. The Cummins is massive, two less cylinders and considerable more size.
Next go down to your local diesel truck meet at a drag strip and watch the Ford trucks that are running in the low 12's and high 11's on the quarter mile. Then go open their hood to see what you will find (hint: it's not a power stroke)
Just trying to dispell a belief that powerstrokes are that much stronger than a Cummins. There are just more powerstrokes on the road that cummins in pickup trucks.
That said I will be SO glad when I can get a Cummins in a Ford F-250. Maybe that day is near as the contract runs out with Dodge soon.

And the cummins produces just as much power and more with less displacement. Not to mention will last 3x longer than the powerstroke under those conditions.
Oh lets not forget who's engines were blowing up last year BOOM Hydrolock! I've read reports of people getting up to 3 brand new engines in their brand new Ford trucks last year! Imagine having to get a brand new engine in your brand spanking new truck three times! Lots of reports on single and double replacements too.
All this will be fixed when you can get a Cummins in an F-250. I personally hate the Dodge truck itself, it's a cheap POS. Ford has a much better body and chassis than Dodge does.

actually, unless you switched emblems, that's not a diesel... superdutys come with a "powerstroke diesel" rectangular emblem on the door, you have a v-something or other emblem on the front of the fender...
