I used to race them at a couple tracks in NJ and PA. I have a few I have collected
Traxxas stampede (nitro) all hopped up
traxxas rustler (nitro)
2 associated b3 all hoped up (electric)
associated t3 all the hopups (electric)
and a associated tc3.
Its hard to race them anymore because alot of tracks close down. They are alot of fun (and work)

Well it was running great till yesterday. Went to hell in a hand basket FAST.
Started loosing power then just got to where it will not stay running at all. this all happened in the course of about 2 minutes. So I took it all apart last night and complete cleaned the carb and all the lines. Took the motor off the car and everything, took the carb off the engine, all the needles and plugs. Put it back together and still the same thing. SO... today I'm going to go get a couple glow plugs. That's the only thing left.
And if that doesn't work I would bring it back to the store you got it at and tell them to give you another one due to the fact that they didn't tell you about this in the first place...

i used to have some sort of boat, about 40" long. and a monster truck. can't remember who made either of them. the truck had a huge lag in turning since i didn't have a powerful enough servo for steering. i do remember vaguely about my speed controller being overkill (something like 4x the mosfets of the cheaper model) and lusting after a metal classy chassis replacement for the truck.
looking at that catalog the servos still look the same but the speed controllers don't look like my old one.

Ok... Yet another problem with the REVO... After I got the plastic cleaned out (they did tell me about this one). The one-way clutch (bearing) on the starter locked up adding a lot of friction to the engine causing it to run hot and eventually stop running till I let it cool off.
My first ready-to-run car and I hate it. Give me a kit damnit!

Where in the world did you buy it? The two problems you have already faced should have been explained to you at the purchase. I'd be pissed also. If the engine locks up while starting, you have to take out the glow plug and turn the car upside down (get out the fuel that caused the vapor lock) wait about three minutes... try again. Don't give the car any throttle on start up either. I feel bad your having problems so early in the game. I feel lucky that the place I got mine told me these things up front and saved alot of time and anger towards the REVO. I'm saying it again. Hang in there it wont do this once you get it completely broken in. I've noticed it really takes 8-10 tanks of nitro for that. (not for the piston & sleeve to seat, but REALLY break in and get out the bugs). Once it runs good go back where you bought, beat someone up, and find a new shop... Sucks man... I'd also call Traxxas and tell 'em, they are awesome to work with.

Or... there's the simple fact that Traxxas one way bearings, and reverse transmissions have been WEAK for years. Lots of my friends have them, and have all gone through them, or ditched them because of how they're built.
Taz... if I was you... I'd swap out for a GPM Racing transmission, an engine made by O.S, and use a starter box. It's by far the fastest, easiest, and best way of doing it.
You're quickly learning why I always avoided Traxxas products...

They told me about the plastic in the tank, but not the clutch bearing.

Unfortunately it's the only hobby shop in this town! Other than small repair stuff, I mail order anyhow. I just got the truck there cause it was a good deal.
Traxxas is helping me out. They are sending me a new clutch bearing and a new starter shaft.

Well the tranny is going ok right now, and I don't want to give up my reverse. That's one reason I bought the REVO over an HPI Savage, reverse.
The engine I'm definetely not opposed to, and I do want to use a starter box. The EZ Start is really a good idea and I'll probably keep the glow plug part of it when I convert to a starter box. That EZ start thing does love to EAT batteries. I'm only running 1200 mAh batteries and it doesn't take much for it to suck one dry.
I will say the suspension on that REVO is unreal. I have to get some video of it running across my yard in the rougher parts where I don't have grass fully growing under the trees. You can see the suspension tracking the grounds like my SGS on a DH course
