In no particular order, here's the 5 songs I'm enjoying most right now:

1. Metallica - Battery
2. NOFX - The Decline
3. Linkin Park - 1 stp Klosr
4. The Planet Smashers - Blind
5. Jack Johnson feat. Ben Harper - Flake

Not necessarily my favourite songs, but right now, they're good.

Hey! Planet Smashers! They're the SHIT. Any idea if they're working on a new album or anything? Best Ska band on the planet.

1. NOFX - The Decline
2. Bad Religion - There's about 15 songs I could put here. Billy, Along the Way, Part III (especially the live one from Tested), etc. etc. etc.
3. Lazycain - North Atlantic
4. Face To Face - I Won't Lie Down
5. Crap, I dunno, I always blank out on shit like this because there's too many that I could list.

Now I have to think...

Darkthrone - Over Fjell Og Gennom Torner. (but there are so many DT songs)
Mayhem - Deathcrush.
Mayhem - Freezing Moon.
Slayer - Angel of Death. (yeah, that's hard to pass)
Metallica - Motorbreath. (this could also have been so many other bands)

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague...what a hard question!

1) King Crimson-ConstruKtion of Light....probably my favorite song ever. Robert Fripp is the best guitar player alive, and Adrian Belew 'ain't too shabby' either. Trey Gunn is redefining the low-end in heavy music and Pat Mastelotto is a really innovative drummer.

2) Shpongle-DMT (Divine Moments of Truth)...best of the psy-downtempo genre

3) Phish- You Enjoy Myself...Anastasio is (was) the best composer of a generation. I have a feeling he would have been rubbing elbows with Mozart if they were alive at the same time.

4) The Disco Biscuits- Jigsaw Earth....my favorite by them. Heavy dub type verses that explode into super fast live goa jams. Highly artistic and profound lyrics as well.

5)Doof/Hallucinogen- The Herb Garden...the first and second track off of the Mystery of the Yeti II kind of blend together to make one amazing track. 10 minutes of beautiful psy-ambient music that ends in an acoustic guitar/flute piece that is terribly haunting (I'm suprised this little section is not more famous). Then Simon Posford comes in with probably what is the crowning jewel in goa music.
