I cracked the chain stay on my 02 SGS DH Pro...

I note the warranty is ayear, and I bought this puppy less thsan a year ago, but the truth is that I ride pretty heavy, and could have broken any other bike to.

Should I try the warranty thing, or just buy a new chainstay?

Thoughts??

Also, I toasted my rear rim at Ragged this weekend just gone. I'm gonna lace up another rim, but I really want to carry a spare to race meets.

Anyone have an old 12MM x 150MM rear hub or wheel lying around? Anyone know where I can pick one up for low $$$$?

cheers all - se you on the shlopes!

So the chainstay snapped in 2 at mountain creek on saturday...

bummer. I guess I should have claimed it under warranty when I had the chance - it was less than a year old when it cracked, but that was last year...

does anyone out there have a chain stay for an 02 iron Horse SGS DH bike they will part with cheap?

I called Iron Horse, they don't have anything, so right now I'm a rider with no ride Sad

Resistive.
I know how hard it is to be without your ride. In the past ive gone for months on end with out a bike to ride. So I know how much you want to be back on trails. I am still trying to work out somthing for you and get you on a bike ASAP.

thanks for helping me out with the bike - i should be back in the saddle next week.

i have a question re. the profile BB - I called profile to ask which spindle I needed, they said measure the old spindle, and mesure the difference in the width of the bb shells. I measured the iron horse, but i think i might be measuring from the wrong dimension. I measured the 02 as 66 or 67mm across. Is the 04 DH bike 100mm, compared tpo the 02 being 66 or 67 across? I ask because for some reason I had it my head that the 04 had a skinnyer BB shell, and that I'd need a shorter spindle...

thanks again!

I understand that to be the case with the FSA stuff, but the profile crank arms are much beffier - 148mm = 5.83 inches. Ther spindle that came on 02 model (with a BB shell 68mm wide) is 6" ?? shouldn't I be looking for something longer, about an inch and a bit longer than the one I ran on the 68mm BB (to account for the extra 32mm in BB shell width)?
