Posted: Thu Mar 25, 2004 12:25 pm pie_vd Toy   Joined: Mar 24, 2004 Posts: 5 Location: antwerpen (Belgium) hello, is there someone who has ridden a 21" sgs dh bike. i want to know what your experiences are, because i think that 21" for dh bike is to big. i could be wrong. when i look ad the product ranges of other makes i never find a 21 " dh frame. maybe it is measured differently then other makes. I don't know. i want to buy a sgs dh team. I am 76" tall, could someone help me in choosing the right size. because i can't. thx a lot. pieter Re: sgs dh 21" ?? Your right about at the tossup point the 21" or the 19" will fit you good. the 19" will be more flickable and the 21" will give you a longer cockpit. Im 6'2" and I ride a 19" with the seat down a bit. I would recomend a 21" for you just for the sake of ajustablity. _________________ Shut up and ride your bike! Re: sgs dh 21" ?? The reason (I beleive) you dont see alot of large bikes/21's is that as they're expensive, few are made, and few shops stock the largest sizes... I have an XL Bullut, but have nevr known a shop here in NYC to stock one. The other reason is that alot of taller riders will ride a 19 for 'flickability' or whatever you want to call it - I believe Steve Peat is like 6'4" or possibly more and rides a 19" (I am not positive about this) I know alot of guys who arte technically mdeium (or even large ) that race on small bikes. The downside for us tall guys is the wheelbase - my XL bullit has 3" longer wheelbase than a M - not such a big deal except in tight turns, and on my HT it makes park a little interesting because the trannies are that much more out of synch - fortunately I just play at street (and I suck too so that helps) Re: sgs dh 21" ?? I am not sure, because my local bike shop( abc bicycles) told me there was a problem with the delivery or somthing... i hope it wil be a team, and hope to ride it soon. greetings from belgium. By the way Todd the new DH bikes are sick and so light in weight, cant wight for them to arrive. Pie. An 888 Will work fine in a 21" you will end up with only a slightly slacker head tube angle. _________________ Shut up and ride your bike!
