V-10 bearing/ axle rebuild

Postby pterodactyl » Sun Jan 14, 2007 12:10 am

I need to replace my bearings in my 05 V-10.

Is the special tool really that necessary?

What kind of shape will the axle be after getting the bearings out, ie should I buy the propak?

Any other comments?

No shitty comments Kenny.

I am going to knife you.

I had glasses in 4th grade, Ha!

If I could figure out how to post a pic I would post a funny one of a gay man with a tight tank top on tucked into spandex shorts and say that it was you. Then people would laugh at you.

Get the propak, there is no need for buying a tool. I will help you so it turns out good.
If you do it on your own it will end up like this

SantaCruz sells the Propack rebuild kit right off their website!
While you are there go pickup a fresh rear shock for your 2007 season.
They are blowing out V10 shocks for $99. I just orded a new V10 shock and propack and axel kit for my V10.
heck yeah.

I'm going to order the kit. The shocks are 5ths and Swingers. I already have a DHX that I was going to have rebuilt. I suppose it would be cheaper than sending it to Push to be rebuilt.

I am going to set you on fire.

How seized to the bearings were your axles on the bottom link? I can't get mine to budge.

Have you kissed a girl yet?

they have been pretty seized at times, i have taken it apart 3 or four times now. just take one of the caps off on one side. then screw the bolt back in without the cap. then use a bfh to blast it out. and no, no girls yet, is your mom single? I like me them older ladies.

If its 'fresh;y' seized and the race/bearings havent become misshaped, pop both caps/seals off - fuly degrease and spin (submerge and adjutate/spin)

clean / blast air - repack, replace seals - GOOD!

--

Propack is good too! lol - Im going to repalce my Bullit set finally -- 20$ for bullt propack (2 bearings, 2 bolts and the pivot wioth bolts.. cheeeep)
Blah blah blah. . . . .

The bearings aren't seized, but the axles are fretted to the inner race. I'm concerned about really having to use a BFH to push the axle out.

I think I can get replacement bearings very cheap.

I take it that the axle is press fit into the linkage, huh?

I apologize to everyone else about this. This may cross the line. I found a picture of you and cookie dough that we took camping at Whiteface. You guys said you were stretching out before practice, not sure about that anymore.

that is f@@kin funny! john, the shafts are not press fit into the linkage. you are right, they are seizing on the bearing races. i have knocked them out and the bearings come apart, only the lower most ones though. i would disassemble everything first. back in oct i had to replace the lower bearings, rocker and the shaft closest to the rear wheel. i only found out what i needed and when it was all apart. if you need anything besides the bearings call santa cruz, they will send you anything. i have dealt with tim field (831) 459-7560 ext 274 and he was very helpful.

John
WOW, I always knew that you different but that pic is living proof that you are gayer that two guys in speedos sharing the same beach towel. I think you're getting a little too worried about this bearing issue, maybe you should go get some Vicaden from Joey and chill out.

Hey retards...I can spell your name correctly, it's not John, it's SHARK!

The propak is on the way, then the shock goes to Push to be rebuilt and voila, I will be ready for another season of mediocre race finishes.

Anyone want to buy a 2006 Boxxer WC? Used last season.
