The Killers...

Postby E. Fleming » Thu Feb 24, 2005 10:41 am

are a pretty cool band...

i know i know... they all 'pop' and what not, but seriously.. its a damn good listen...

sorta like a rock and roll sound with a bit of 80's techno jam.. think duran duran for the 2005 generation... at first i wasnt too syked, but my friend gave me a mix cd with a few tracks and i really digged it.

so i go and buy the cd (first cd i've bought in quite some time mind you..) and the album is dope... now im super-down. does that make me weird...?

i highly reccomend it to the downhiller in need of some upbeat tunes without someone screaming in your ear.... or if you're having problems with your chic (or dude) - good lyrics about relationships gone bad....

I was afraid to admit to liking that band, fearing repercussions from the Slayer mobs of Dhillers.

You know I used that tune in the Diabloween vid from November (www.spinteck.com). Driving in the car listening to their 1st popular song in fall, all I pictured was ripping down the T-tops on dominion.

I really like the tune Jenny was a friend of mine. They definitely have a unique sound. I thought they were British, but then I found out they're from Vegas! I bet they mountain bike.

Do you know any other bands that sound like them??

Some girl said I reminded her of the song "jenny was a friend of mine", I don't know if that's a good thing.

I like that one song a lot. The rest of the album, I apparently couldn't give a shit about because they played it in the bar and I hated it.

I don't get why sounding poppy is considered such a bad thing. People are dumb.

Don't be ashamed...I love groups like Cannibal Corpse, Skinless, Carcass, etc.
But I'll never be ashamed that I dig Natalie Merchant (mostly 10,000 Maniacs' albums) and The Sundays.
Also hearing a classically trained woman sing "Ave Maria" always does it for me.

and Debbie Gibson will always have a place in my heart.
Metallica sucks.

Joss Stone is definitely talented, but I think people are going a little too far comparing her to Janis Joplin.
That's like comparing Lenny Kravitz to Hendrix...Lenny's good, but shit, he ain't Hendrix!
Metallica sucks.
